PST University, Hyderabad to Organise Women Writers’ Meet

Potti Sriramulu Telugu University is going to organise an ‘All India Telugu Women Writers’ Literacy Conference (Kavayithrula Sammelanam)' on October 7 & 8, 2016 . The conference is being hosted in collaboration with State government’s Language and Cultural Department. The varsity is conducting the conference as a part of Bathukamma festival which is going to commence at the varsity on October 7, 2016.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Satya Narayana said that around 50 women would read their poems in the conference and the theme is ‘Bathukamma Cheruvu’. Experts in ‘South Indian States-Feminist Writings-Modern Trends’ will attend the conference, and they would be introduced to the women writers participating in the conference. He mentioned around 20 women writers from 10 states across the country will take part in the conference.

He also revealed that the Mayor of Hyderabad, Bontha Ram Mohan would inaugurate the ‘Bathukamma Sambaralu’ on the university premises on October 7, 2016.

Eminent women writers Vijaya Reddy, Palla Vijaya Lakshmi, Palla Neelima and Artula Susila, will also participate in the conference. On this occasion, Bathukamma-Aata-Pata (singing and dancing) programme will be organised by the students of the varsity.
