Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has cancelled the PU CET (UG) 2020 exam due to the ongoing coronavirus lockdown in the nation. Earlier, the PU advisory committee had also recommended that all the deadlines which fall during the period of lockdown should be extended.
The exam, which is conducted for admission to B.Sc (Hons) and B.Pharmacy was supposed to be held on October 4, 2020. The registration date had also been extended to September 19, 2020. The decision to cancel the exam was taken as per the recommendation of a coordination committee headed by Navdeep Goyal. Since admissions have already been delayed, members of the panel decided that instead of waiting, students should be granted admission on the basis of class 12 results.
