Punjab: Baba Farid University of Health Sciences Releases All-India Merit List of NEET-UG 2017

Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) is the first university across the country to release the all-India merit list of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017 for the admission to BDS and MBBS courses.

With the release of merit list, the candidates will get an idea in which college they would get admission. Vice-Chancellor of BFUHS, Dr. Raj Bahadur visited the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to get clearance for releasing the merit list. BFUHS is the first university to upload the merit list. The varsity had already intimated the candidates from Punjab to apply online. BFUHS will also draw its state merit list based on which the counselling for MBBS and BDS courses will commence.

Uploading the merit list will ensure transparency. The candidates will get a chance to see their relative position among the applicants.

VC of BFUHS indicated that the candidates applying for Punjab category other than BC/ SC/ General shall be from other states. On the other hand, Sikh/ Christian candidates can compete from anywhere in the country.

This year, there are 1,130 BDS seats and 1,125 MBBS seats in various medical and dental colleges affiliated to the university across the state.

The online application process for MBBS and BDS courses will begin on July 11, 2017, while the counselling process will begin from July 17, 2017. After the successful registration, the general category candidates need to deposit a fee of Rs. 5000 while SC candidates need to deposit Rs. 5,000.
