The principal of Patna Women’s College had not allowed 319 students to write the papers citing low attendance as the reasons.
A PIL was filed by the All India Student’s Federation alleging that the students were facing the action for protesting against the molestation of a student by a male teacher of the mass communication department of Patna Women’s College last year in the month of September.
The division bench which was hearing the PIL by AISF consisted of Justice Anjana Prakash and the acting Chief Justice Iqbal Ahmed Ansari. The principal of the Patna Women’s College and the VC of Patna University had been summoned to the high court on 10th March for the hearing.
The court further, on the day of hearing has asked for the complete explanation on the whole matter from the college authority and the university. If the allegations of student's union are proved against the college administration, a special exam would be conducted for the 319 students who have been debarred from writing their final exams.
