Governor of Rajasthan, Mr. Kalyan Singh has informed the Vice-Chancellors of three state varsities located in tribal areas to implement a new plan for skill development and employment of tribal youth. The new plan, i.e., ‘ best practices model on skill development’ was chalked out as per the directions of the Governor. The new plan will improve the skills of tribal youth and will create job opportunities for them so that they can be self-dependent. The new plan will also keep a check on migration from tribal areas.
The Governor has asked the VCs of the following universities to provide skill training: -
- Govind Guru Tribal University – Banswara
- Mohal Lal Sukhadia University of Udaipur
- Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology

The Governor of Rajasthan has entrusted the responsibility of providing necessary technical and financial assistance to the Tribal Development Department . The varsities will have to submit its report on the progress of the skills training programme that is being implemented. The major outcome of the programme is to ensure tribal students become eligible for employment in different fields.
The new skill development programme will regulate tribal youth migrating to various regions in search of employment. The new plan will also encourage small-scale enterprises in tribal areas.

The central government is also planning to set up more tribal universities and universities for minorities in various states across the country.
