Schools in Rajasthan to Remain Closed until January 13: The sudden cold wave has decreased the temperature suddenly, especially in the northern states. Considering the health of students, several district administrations of Rajasthan have decided to call the schools off till January 14, 2024. The regional administrations of Jaipur and Seekar districts announced to keep the schools off for classes from 1st to 8th up to January 14 until the cold wave gets less effective. The orders have been officially declared a holiday until January 13 only. However, Sunday falls on the next day and Makar Sankranti falls on the day after. So the winter break will be considered up to January 15 in Rajasthan.

Rajasthan Schools to Stay Closed Until January 14 Due to Cold Wave
As per the latest orders, the schools affiliated to any board including CBSE and ICSE will also be closed in the district. It is also to be noted that Monday, January 15 is being observed as the occasion of Makar Sakranti, which is a regional holiday. Therefore, the schools are expected to reopen from January 16, 2024, onwards in Rajasthan.
Many districts of the state experienced a huge dip in the temperature falling down even below 5 degree Celsius at some places. The concerned authorities took note of it and closed the schools for schools till secondary classes. However, the district authorities have stated that the examinations scheduled between these dates are allowed to be conducted by the school and the board without any change.
The weather department has shown signs of temperature rising a little more this week. Hence, it is expected that the school holidays in Rajasthan and other states will not be further extended.
