S Sri Ram from Tamil Nadu emerges all India topper of CA final exam that was conducted in June 2016. The results of the CA final examination and common proficiency test 2016 was announced on Monday afternoon, July 18.
Sri Ram’s father used to work for a government transport corporation and mother works at the district library in Salem.
Sri Ram secured 76.63% with a score of 613 marks out of 800. Vijayawada’s Kantheti Naga Venkata Viswa Upendra bagged the second position (all-India) with 76.25% while Yash Manojkumar Goyal from Jamnagar got the third position with 74.88%. In 2016, a total of 11.36% of the total students who gave both the final exams has become chartered accountants.
CA final exam 2015 was topped by a John Britto, also a student from Tamil Nadu who secured 74.38% and 595 marks out of 800. Sri Ram also followed the trend in 2016.

Talking about his preparation, Sri Ram said that this was his first attempt at CA exam. He also said that he had worked hard and expected to get an all India rank within top 10.
He secured all India seventh rank in both groups in the intermediate exam in his first attempt, for which he appeared in 2013. Sri Ram said that he did his article ship with CR chartered accountant C Narendran in Salem. However, he took classes in Chennai at Prime Academy.
Sri Ram is still undecided whether he wants to work for a company or practice as a chartered accountant on his own. Ever since he wanted to prepare for the CA exams he has been considering to practice the profession and work individually.
