Saveetha Engineering College Adopts Finland Model of Engineering Education

Saveetha Engineering College is the first engineering college in India to adopt the Finland Model of Engineering Education. The new Finland model is known as MILA- Multiple Integrated Learning Algorithms which provides students with multiple options to make their study more effective and to make students learn as per their area of interest for better understanding.

MILA promotes effective learning and aims towards the holistic development of the student in various subjects such as Arts, Social Studies, Theatre, Music along with Science and Engineering. The new model of Engineering Education will also help to break the barriers that exist in the Indian Education System. The time has come when it is very important for the students to be well connected with the industries and enhance their skills as per the industry trends. This program will also bridge the gap between the students and industries.

Prof. A.K. Mittal, Member Secretary, AICTE launched the program during a formal ceremony hosted by the institute. During the ceremony, he also handed over the Certificate of Autonomous Status to Saveetha Engineering College to Dr. N.M Veeraiyan, Founder and Chancellor of the college.

In the new model, the role of the faculty will just not be limited to academics but to inspire, support and help the students in all walks of life. To implement the same, around 150 faculty members of the institute were trained by IIT for 15 days.
