- Latest Update at 4:05 PM: Currently the capital city of Assam, Guwahati (Kamrup Metropolitan) is experiencing heavy rainfall and floods.
- As per the reports, districts, Goalpara, Sonitpur, and Bishwanath are under Orange alert on August 5 with heavy rain followed by thunderstorms and lightning, most likely to cause a flood, which may result in a school holiday.
- IMD issued an orange alert for Barpeta and Darrang on August 6, with yellow alerts for all west Assam districts, and Sonitpur, Bishwanath, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Jorhat, Majuli, Dima Haso, and Cachar districts.
