• IMD issued an orange alert for Barpeta and Darrang on August 6, with yellow alerts for all west Assam districts, and Sonitpur, Bishwanath, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Jorhat, Majuli, Dima Haso, and Cachar districts.
