• Latest Update at 11:30 PM: The latest update states that the weather in Andhra Pradesh is stable and the government has not issued the Andhra Pradesh School Holiday 9 August 2024.
• Latest Update at 6:45 PM: All schools shall remain open as per the latest information available.
• After 24 hours of heavy rainfall and floods in the state of Andhra Pradesh, the state is now expected to be out of risk of floods and waterlogging.
• However, as per the current reports from IMD, all districts are still on Yellow Alert for heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning and strong surface winds.
• In areas that have been affected due to rain and are waterlogged, the schools and colleges will remain closed. However, the government has not issued an official Andhra Pradesh School Holiday on 9 August 2024 yet.

Maharashtra School Holiday on 9 August 2024

• Latest Update at 11:30 PM: All schools shall remain open until declared holiday at regional level due to waterlogging.
• Latest Update at 6:45 PM: Schools affected by floods are declared a holiday by the local authorities for 9 August 2024.
• Pune, Ratnagiri, Raigad, Satara, Bhandara, Gondia, and Chandra pur are on Yellow Alert with the prediction of Heavy Rainfall, meanwhile, Amravati and Nagpur are to experience Heavy Rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning.
• The rest of the state will experience light showers with clear skies.
• The government has not yet issued a school holiday for Maharashtra on 9 August 2024, however, if areas are hit by floods, affected areas are to remain closed.

Tamil Nadu School Holiday on 9 August 2024

• Latest Update at 11:30 PM: Schools are to conduct classes as scheduled as the school holiday has not been declared yet.
• Latest Update at 6:45 PM: As the reports are available, no indication of a school holiday on 9 August 2024. Further updates are awaited from the government.
• The entire state is under Yellow Alert with IMD reports for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning.
• As per the weather reports available, heavy rainfall is experienced in some parts of the state currently, and a school holiday is expected on 9 August 2024. An official statement is awaited to be declared.

Assam School Holiday on 9 August 2024

• Latest Update at 11:30 PM: Schools in Kamrup Metropolitan that are affected by waterlogging are declared school holiday. Also other parts of the state affected by floods and waterlogging shall remain closed, although official statement has not been released yet.
• Latest Update at 6:45 PM: Several schools in Assam have been declared as a school holiday due to waterlogging and flood. Some parts of the state are still receiving heavy rainfall and are expected to announce the official Assam school holiday on 9 August 2024.
• Assam school holiday on 8 August 2024 due to waterlogging, floods, and heavy rainfall in some areas. The principals of the schools have declared a holiday for the safety of their students.

Jharkhand School Holiday on 9 August 2024

• Latest Update at 6:45 PM: The current reports suggest that the weather in Jharkhand has not yet improved are continuing with heavy rainfall since morning. School holiday on 9 August 2024 is most likely to be announced.
• As per the latest weather reports, Jharkhand is experiencing heavy rainfall, with expected floods. A cyclone rising above the Bay of Bengal is expected to hit Jharkhand by the evening of August 8, with heavy showers, thunderstorms, and lightning.
