Andhra Pradesh School Holiday on 9 August 2024

• After 24 hours of heavy rainfall and floods in the state of Andhra Pradesh, the state is now expected to be out of risk of floods and waterlogging.
• However, as per the current reports from IMD, all districts are still on Yellow Alert for heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning and strong surface winds.
• In areas that have been affected due to rain and are waterlogged, the schools and colleges will remain closed. However, the government has not issued an official Andhra Pradesh School Holiday on 9 August 2024 yet.

Maharashtra School Holiday on 9 August 2024

• Pune, Ratnagiri, Raigad, Satara, Bhandara, Gondia, and Chandra pur are on Yellow Alert with the prediction of Heavy Rainfall, meanwhile, Amravati and Nagpur are to experience Heavy Rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning.
• The rest of the state will experience light showers with clear skies.
• The government has not yet issued a school holiday for Maharashtra on 9 August 2024, however, if areas are hit by floods, affected areas are to remain closed.

Tamil Nadu School Holiday on 9 August 2024

• The entire state is under Yellow Alert with IMD reports for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning.
• As per the weather reports available, heavy rainfall is experienced in some parts of the state currently, and a school holiday is expected on 9 August 2024. An official statement is awaited to be declared.

Assam School Holiday on 9 August 2024

• Assam school holiday on 8 August 2024 due to waterlogging, floods, and heavy rainfall in some areas. The principals of the schools have declared a holiday for the safety of their students.
• The government has not issued any official school holiday. Similarly, the school holiday on 9 August 2024 is expected to be declared as most parts of the state are still on Yellow Alert and currently under heavy rainfall.

Jharkhand School Holiday on 9 August 2024

• As per the latest weather reports, Jharkhand is experiencing heavy rainfall, with expected floods. A cyclone rising above the Bay of Bengal is expected to hit Jharkhand by the evening of August 8, with heavy showers, thunderstorms, and lightning.
• Jharkhand School Holiday on 9 August 2024 has not been declared yet, however, if the cyclone hits parts of the state, devasted areas are expected to remain closed.
• Private schools are most likely to be on holiday for August 9, and government schools most affected shall be declared holiday on a regional level.
• All districts in Jharkhand have been declared as Yellow Alert.

Bihar School Holiday on 9 August 2024

• IMD has issued a Yellow Alert for all districts in Bihar for August 8 and 9, 2024. The state has been receiving heavy rainfall since the morning of August 8.
• Reports suggest that some areas of Bihar are to be hit by a cyclone rising from the Bay of Bengal to cause hefty rainfall accompanied by strong surface winds, thunderstorms, and lightning.
• Bihar school holiday on 9 August 2024 for the areas mostly affected by the cyclone is predicted to be announced.
