UP Schools Shut Till January 6 in Multiple Districts: The regional authorities of various cities and districts of Uttar Pradesh have announced to keep the schools closed till January 6, 2024 due to the ongoing cold wave in the state. The district administration of Lucknow has recently announced that the decision has been taken given the continued cold wave and dense fog in the region. Schools from classes 1st to 8th have been declared to stay shut to keep the children away from getting affected in the winter.

UP Schools to Remain Closed Due to Cold Wave
The state government has not issued any general orders to keep the schools closed due to the cold wave. However, the district administrations of several cities have declared holidays in the schools in their respective regions.
As per the latest guidelines, the schools will remain shut for Classes 1 to 8 of all boards including pre-primary schools in Lucknow till January 6, 2024. The administration has also asked the schools to conduct the schools for classes 9 to 12 between 10 AM to 3 PM only if required. The conduct of the higher classes has been left to the individual decisions of every school.
The schools from classes pre-primary to 8th in the districts of Bareilly and Prayagraj have been declared to remain closed till January 7 and January 14, 2024 respectively. District Magistrate, Bareilly, Ravinder Kumar shared this announcement with the media that the decision has been taken for the children due to the sudden dip in temperature. Prayagraj district authorities have also instructed all government, private, CBSE, and ICSE schools to follow the orders to keep the classes from nursery to 8th closed till January 14, 2024.
