The management of Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala celebrated Hindi Diwas in a grand manner on September 14, 2016 . As a part of celebrations, various competitions were conducted for the students of the college. The chief guest for the celebrations was Ch. Padmavathi, Senior Lecturer of B.Ed College. She addressed the students on the occasion.
She said that Hindi is our Rajbhasha, and it is essential for each and every citizen to learn it. During the freedom struggle, Hindi played a significant role in national integration. She mentioned that students must possess skills in Hindi for a bright career. She stressed that the government has to take essential steps to make Hindi as the compulsory language in the system of secondary education. All the South Indian states confined Hindi as a subject upto secondary education.

Later, she distributed the prizes to the students who scored top marks in Hindi in the semester examination. She appreciated the students for choosing Hindi as the second language. She also distributed prizes to the winners of various literary competitions.
The celebrations were attended by the college Principal, Vijaya Lakshmi, HOD of Hindi Department, Ramalakshmi and others.
