If reports are to be believed, some pictures of the questions in the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2016 were leaked and have started doing the rounds of social media websites and other such platforms. The question is said to be from the DILR section. Additionally, some discrepancy can also be noted in the marking scheme of the question. This is said to have happened in the 2nd slot of the examination.
Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore , the conducting authority of the management exam, has put up an official notification in this regard. They are claiming that an incident of this kind of malpractice is true. However, they have assured the students that action will be taken swiftly and have asked the aspirants to stay calm about the same.

It cannot be denied that CAT 2016 aspirants are concerned about the news as it may have a direct impact on their selection chances. Keeping this in mind, IIMs will look into the matter in depth. If it is found that the leak is limited to a specific locality or has not occurred on a very large scale, the entire exam may not be cancelled. However, one can only be sure of this once the investigations have been carried out and reports are released.
In case the afternoon slot exam is cancelled, thousands of students will face difficulties and inconvenience. Indian Institutes of Management or the IIMs shall however, take complete ownership and responsibility of reviving the sanctity of the top management entrance exam.

Earlier in 2003, CAT exam was leaked and was further cancelled after CBI produced a report that clearly stated that question paper access was available with a few people before the exam was even conducted/began.
