BHU PET 2022 Counselling Process

The counselling of BHU 2022 will be held online. Selected candidates will be informed by the call Letter sent by the Banaras Hindu University admission authority.

  • The counselling of BHU will be conducted in order of merit scores of qualified candidates.

  • The admission procedure will be done by the Admission Committees of the respective departments. The concerned Head of the Department/Coordinator will issue electronic call letters to the candidates for Counselling.

  • Once the electronic call letters are issued, the shortlisted candidates may download the call letters by logging in to the official website of BHU. Once candidates have logged in, they can scroll to Entrance Test Column where they will get their call letter. Candidates are advised to check their name and roll numbers before downloading the call letter.

  • Information about the Call Letter will be sent to the candidates’  registered email IDs and mobile numbers. Therefore,  candidates are advised to give correct e-mail addresses and mobile numbers at the time of submitting the application form.

  • Candidates may also note that there is no postal dispatch of call letters.

  • The number of call letters will approximately be two-four times more than the number of seats available in the course. Admission will be based strictly on the merit index obtained in the entrance test.

Detailed BHU PET 2022 Counselling Procedure

The counselling procedure involves the following steps:

  • Every candidate called for counselling for admission to a course are required to fill up an online Preference Entry Form which is available and active on the candidates' segment of the Entrance Test Portal for online preference entry after they have received the password. 

  • In the Preference Entry Form, a candidate is required to give his/her preference of the following:

    • Choice of Course: This preference option will be available only if admission to more than one course is done based on merit obtained in a Common Test.

    • Preference of location: This preference option will be available only if a course runs at more than one location.

    • Seat Type: Whether the candidate wants the seats with a regular fee-only or he/she is willing to take admission in Paid Seat if the regular fee seats are full. This preference option will not be available for Special Courses of Study and certain other regular/professional programmes.

  • Candidates should reach the counselling venue at the prescribed time and date mentioned in the call letter. Candidates should contact the Counselling Centre or Venue Incharge and mark their attendance by signing the attendance sheet available with the Counselling Centre Incharge.

  • After the preference entry form gets finalised, candidates should get its printout, sign it and submit it along with other required original documents at the Verification Desk. 

  • Once the Preference Entry Form is signed and confirmed by a candidate on the counselling state, it becomes final and is not applicable to be changed later. 

  • If a meritorious candidate of the reserved category is called for counselling along with general category candidates, then his/her claim on seats shall remain intact.

  • The admission letter will show the course in which candidates are provisionally admitted on the date of counselling, the amount of admission fee to be paid and the deadline for fee payment. 

  • In case candidates are provisionally admitted to a special Course of Study or on Paid Seat, they will be required to pay the Special Course/ Paid Seat fee in addition to a regular fee of the Course. 

  • Candidates can pay the admission fee in online mode through credit card/ debit card or net banking through the payment gateway available on the Entrance Test portal. Candidates can also pay through cash at the Fee Counters.

  • The final allotment will be done by the computer only after the expiry of the payment deadline of the last date of counselling. The allotment will be based on the preference of candidates given at the time of counselling.

  • Candidates must have all original documents as mentioned by the University. 

  • Failure to pay the fees within the prescribed period given in the admission letter will result in the cancellation of the allotted seat.

Required Documents at the time of BHU PET 2022 Counselling

Shortlisted Candidates are required to bring original documents along with their photocopies at the time of counselling. These documents will serve to be an identity and proof of candidates. A list of the documents is mentioned below.

  • BHU PET 2022 Admit Card.

  • BHU PET 2022 Score Card.

  • Any two Identity cards (Driving License, Aadhar card, PAN card, Voter Id, Passport, School/College identity card for verification).

  • Transfer Certificate(If required).

  • Migration Certificate(To be submitted not later than 90 days of admission).

  • High School Certificate/equivalent Certificate.

  • 10+2 Certificate/equivalent Certificate.

  • Mark sheets of High School/equivalent & 10+2 /equivalent.

  • Mark sheet of Bachelor Degree course or last qualifying examination.

  • Reserved caste category Certificate.

  • Certificate of being the son/daughter of a permanent in-service employee/Retired/Reemployed/ Deceased employee of BHU.

  • Certificate(s) in support of the claim for 'Sports Seats'.

Hi there, yes you can pursue MA in English without having studied English literature at graduation level. However, you should have studied English in school though. The eligibility for MA English at LPU is 50 percent marks in graduation or equivalent in any discipline. Hope this is self explanatory. Good Luck
