CUSAT CAT 2024 Result (Out)

CUSAT CAT 2024 results for several of the UG and PG offered courses were announced on June 3, 2024, at admissions.cusat.ac.in. The results are issued by the Cochin University of Science and Technology in the form of a provisional rank list on the official website.

 To download the CUSAT CAT 2024 result, candidates should follow these steps:

• Visit the official website of CUSAT CAT 2024.
• On the homepage, locate the notification regarding the published result.
• Click on the provided link to access the CAT 2024 provisional rank lists page.
• Choose the relevant program from the drop-down menu by selecting "Select" and then click on "View Rank List."
• The result will be presented on the screen.
• The provisional rank list will feature details such as registration number, candidate names, reservation status, special reservation, and general rank.
• For a quicker search, candidates can enter their name, registration number, roll number, or reservation category to confirm their inclusion in the list.

How will CUSAT CAT Result 2024 be Calculated?

Here is the method of calculating CUSAT CAT 2024 results.

The exam conducting authorities will follow the formula to calculate the CUSAT CAT 2024 scores of candidates i.e 

S = 3R - 1W,

where :

• S is the CAT score, 

• R is the number of right answers,

• W is the number of wrong answers. 

However, for every correct answer, 3 marks will be awarded to candidates and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. In the case of two or more candidates having equal scores, a tie-breaking policy will be followed as mentioned below.

How is CUSAT CAT 2024 Rank Calculated?

Along with the CUSAT CAT result 2024, the rank list for CUSAT CAT 2024 will also be prepared on the basis of the percentile index. The formula given below is used in the calculation of the percentile index.

[(n+1-p)/n)]x S x 100

Here, N denotes the number of candidates appearing for the exam in a particular subject. P denotes the position as per the CUSAT CAT score and S denotes the actual score of the candidate.

After calculating the percentile index, the exam authorities will integrate the percentile indices to calculate the relative position of a candidate in the rank for a particular course.

Tie-Breaking Policy for CUSAT CAT 2024

For tie-breaking in CUSAT CAT 2024 programs the following policy will be initiated. Let us understand this by taking example of the B.Tech programmes, wherein the following rules will apply:

• Initial comparison based on total marks in Mathematics, giving preference to the candidate with higher marks.
• If the tie persists, the marks obtained in Physics will be compared.
• Subsequently, the marks in Chemistry will be considered if the tie is not resolved.
• If the tie continues, combined marks in the following order will be considered: Mathematics/ Biology and Physics, Mathematics/ Biology and Chemistry, Physics and Chemistry.
• If the tie persists further, the total marks obtained in the class 12th board exams will be taken into account.
• In case the tie still exists, marks obtained in English will be considered.
• If the tie continues, the candidate's date of birth will be a deciding factor, favouring the older candidate.
• If the tie persists even after considering the date of birth, alphabetical order of candidates' names will be used for tie-breaking.

Note: Similar tie breaking policy will be followed for other programs as well, offered by CUSAT CAT exam.

Post CUSAT CAT 2024 Result Declaration

After the results are announced, candidates will have to check the CUSAT CAT 2024 Cut-off, which is the minimum rank required to get admission. Candidates must match CUSAT CAT 2024 Cut-off, otherwise, the probability of their admission will be reduced.
