The seminar on “Big Data Analytics” that has been organized by Patna University (PU) was inaugurated ion Tuesday i.e. 26th April 2016.
The head of the department – statistics, Calcutta University, Mr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, spoke at the geology auditorium on Tues day – 1. Highlighting on the future scope of the subject, he said that the statistical data was becoming of greater significance in the modern digital times.
Mr. Parmartha Dutta of Shantiniketan told that the data was being created at a very rapid rate in the past years.
Mr. Dutta also said that the appropriate measures would have to be made in order to store a large amount of the data that is generated in the last 2 years.
The Patna University Vice Chancellor Mr. Y C Simhadri, in his inaugural speech, said that the analytical findings could lead to more and more effective marketing, better customer service, new revenue opportunities competitive advantages, improved operational efficiency, over rival organizations & the other business benefits.
At the outset, Patna University - statistics department head, Mrs. Anchala Kumari welcomed the guests. The Patna University pro-vice-chancellor Ranjit Kumar Verma also addressed the participants. The conference saw the presence of various faculty of statistics department from various institutions.
