SGI Pune Conducts Xenia 2020 - International Webinar on Hotel Management, Travel and Tourism

Industry experts from all around the world came together in Xenia 2020 conducted by SGI Pune and provided valuable insights about domains such as agro-tourism, food styling, mixology, cloud kitchen etc.

SGI Pune Conducts Xenia 2020

Suryadatta Group of Institutes (SGI), Pune conducted Xenia 2020, a 3-day international webinar on Hotel Management, Travel and Tourism from Nov 3 - 5, 2020. Xenia 2020 was inaugurated on November 3, 2020, and was conducted with the theme 'Bestowing Hospitality' by the Suryadatta College of Hospitality Management and Travel Tourism (SCHMTT).

The webinar revolved around the sharing of new concepts and ideas in the backdrop of national and international developments in the hotel management industry. Students attending the webinar learned new concepts from industry stalwarts and knowledge related to a variety of fields in Hospitality such as Airport Catering, Food Styling, Food Blogging, Food Historiam, Wine Appreciation, Mixology and Shrubs, Facility Management etc. was shared.

Mr Pandurang Taware, a renowned Agro Tourism entrepreneur, kickstarted the webinar while also explaining the link between hotel management and agro-tourism. The students were encouraged to take up an entrepreneurial approach in agro-tourism to boost the economic situation of farmers. Chef Nitin Tandon, the CEO of Clear Water Hospitality Services, also joined the event and shared a lot of exciting stuff related to Food Styling while providing insights about options and pathways for a career as a Food Stylist .

On the subsequent days, a session conducted by Mr Amar Shrivastava, the Chef of Eureka Araujo, focused on Professional Pastry Making and careers in Brewery. Chef Rahul Wali shared insights on the history of food while students got to learn about careers in Facility Management from Mr Ramesh Upadhyay.

Some other speaker sessions conducted as a part of the webinar were Laundry Management as a Career by Mr Karthick, Science of Mixing Fluids by Mr Balji Jinagha, Concept of Cloud Kitchen by Chef Ravirat, Fruit Wines by Mr Alalpit Prabhune, Being a Food Blogger by Mr Anshay Jain and Airport Catering by Chef Rajesh Shetty.

The practical aspects of the various domains of hospitality learned during the seminar were appreciated by the students. Many students came forward and expressed their views on the information shared during the webinar. They said that they will consider taking up the discussed careers and the insights gained were very valuable in improving their understanding about the same.
