Shiv Nadar University Launches Two Specialised Scholarship Programs

Shiv Nadar University has announced two new scholarships scheme for its undergraduate programmes from the academic session 2017-18. The two new scholarships, namely, Rural Student Scholarship and Gifted Student Scholarship will be offered on the basis of need and merit both.

The university will be spending a total amount of Rs. 35 crore towards these two scholarships. In the last six years, the institute has disbursed more than Rs. 150 crore on its scholarship programmes.

Dr. S.N. Balakrishnan, chancellor of Shiv Nadar University explaining the idea behind these two scholarships said that as a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary and research-led university, the varsity aims to create an unparalleled academic ecosystem to develop the full potential of students while encouraging them to become future leaders who can excel in the required skills. Moreover, they can be equipped with the responsibility and a sense of social commitment. Thus, the varsity has introduced these scholarship programs which are merit-based as well as need-based to provide opportunities to the talent and deserving underprivileged students and also to bring the best talent in the university.

"Gifted Student" scholarship is a merit-based scholarship programme under which the institute provides 100 percent tuition waiver. The students with exceptional marks in the pre-identified exams will be considered for this scholarship.The following exams are considered for this scholarship,

• Kishor Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana or KVPY
• INSPIRE fellows awarded Scholarship for Higher Education or SHE
• The Indian National Olympiad holding top 5 – 10 ranks for each subject in Sciences and Mathematics
• National Talent Search Examination or NTSE toppers holding ranks up to 1,000
• JEE (Advanced) top 500 ranks
• Top 10 rank holders in Class 12 from all education boards

Please note that eligible students will be directly invited for the personal interview at the University.

"Rural Student" Scholarship supports students with exceptional talent from the rural and underprivileged background. The scholarship offers 100 percent tuition waiver along with hostel and living expenses extended as a loan to be repaid after completing graduation.
