The Shivaji University, Kolhapur signed a memorandums of understanding (MoU) with South Korean Chonnam National University to facilitate exchange programmes for students and faculty between the universities.
A university circular said the MoU will play an important role in facilitating easy student exchange, faculty exchange, discussion of academics and joint research projects between the universities. "It will also facilitate interaction with in South Korean industrial organisations as well as Indian industries," it said.
Mohan Ghatge, chairman, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), South Maharashtra chapter, said the MoU will play a vital role in effective communication between the industries and the educational institutions. "All the industries within and around Kolhapur are positive about the MoU," he added.
"A university delegation had visited South Korea last month where we had learned about the leaders in Industry/University Cooperation (LINC) initiative. The MoU with South Korean university will make it possible for us to replicate the same in here too." On the importance of the MoU over 600 industrial experts will be available from South Korea to interact with our industries as well as students. The industries from Kolhapur can make most out of this facility by witnessing and interactions on their development and research ."
