Delhi University NCWEB (Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board) and SOL (School of Open Learning) students can now migrate to any Delhi University affiliated college in their second year. With CBCS applicable to SOL and NCWEB , all students across DU will study the same curriculum.
Director, SOL, Chandra Shekhar Dubey informed that due to candidates failing, leaving and transferring, a huge number of seats in DU colleges are left vacant in the second year. Now, the colleges will fill those seats on the basis of merit from SOL and NCWEB. In order to transfer college, the students will have to obtain two No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the college they are shifting from and the one transferring to.
With the introduction of the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), the students of NCWEB and SOL can now choose subject combinations as per their will which was not there in the previous regular mode.

Dubey informed that SOL will conduct online classes which will include chat-based counselling sessions and webinars. For the online lectures, 2000 new PCP -Personal Contract Programme counsellors. They will conduct counselling both in online and offline mode and will be responsible to create the content material for their respective subjects.
He said that the online method is more efficient as it enables to receive feedback instantly. While talking about the online statistics of the courses, he said that the portal of Online Learning receives 50 lakh views daily which implies is opened by every student around 10 times a day.

Through these initiatives SOL and NCWEB will be able to increase their reach and the students who wish to study in regular mode will stand a fair chance.
