The Savitribai Phule Pune University law students have demanded Marathi as an option in exams. The students have raised the issue to attempt the exams in Marathi. Over a few days, there have been constant debates on language barrier issue at SPPU. According to some of the students, it is difficult for them to attempt exams in English due to their background.
Vishu Nijamkar, SSPU student said that he has completed class 12 from a Marathi- medium school. Therefore, it makes it difficult for him to understand the law subjects in English course. Therefore, the varsity should provide them with an option to attempt exams in Marathi and to provide study material in the same.
