- SPPU revises fee structure for foreign students, SAARC nations, OCI, PIO and NRI students.
- The new fee structure will come into effect from the academic year of 2019 onwards.
Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has taken a decision to reduce the tuition fees for international students from 2019 academic year. The Management Council of SPPU has given clarity in this regard. The decision is expected to boost the enrolment of foreign/ international students at SPPU.
As per the existing fee structure, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) and Persons of Indian Origins (PIO) pay the tuition fee that is five times higher than the regular admission fee. On the other hand, non-resident Indian students and students hailing from SAARC countries must pay the tuition fee that is three times higher than the regular admission fee.

Due to the higher fees, the number of foreign and NRI students taking admission in SPPU has declined considerably. The latest decision on reducing the fees for these category students will attract more students to take admission in SPPU.
SPPU Revised Fee Structure for Foreign Students, OCI, PIO, NRI, and SAARC Students:
Director of International Students Centre at SPPU has given official information on SPPU revised fee structure for international students, students from SAARC countries, OCI, PIO and NRI students. The revised structure can be checked below.
- Students hailing from foreign countries, OCI and PIO categories will have to pay the tuition fee that is three times higher than the regular admission fee. Earlier, the tuition fee was five times higher than the regular fees.
- On the other hand, NRI candidates and students from SAARC countries will have to pay the tuition fee that is two times higher than the regular fee. Earlier, the tuition fee was three times higher than the regular fee.

Usually, a small number of international students take up non-professional courses in SPPU. Earlier, students used to take up professional courses. However, the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) took the responsibility of filling seats in professional courses.
