SRFTI has released admission notification for its 2 year Post Graduate Program in Television and 3 year Post Graduate Program in Cinema.

Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata, the premiere centre for cinematic learning has released the admission notification for its two-year full-time Post-Graduate Programme in Television for session 2017 – 2019 and three-year full-time Post-Graduate Programme in Cinema session 2017 – 2020. The last date to apply is May 10, 2017. Interested students will have to apply for the entrance examination using the online system of the institute on its official website.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • 3 year Post Graduate Programme in Cinema:

Graduate in any course from a recognized university or equivalent. On the other hand, for Animation Cinema, candidates are supposed to have proficiency in drawing.

  • 2 year Post Graduate Programme in Television:

Graduate in any course from a recognized university or equivalent.

The students who have not obtained their graduation degree are required to submit the same before the date of admission.

Selection Process:

  • A written examination will be conducted at different centres on 21st May 2017.
  • The shortlisted students for Post Graduate Programme in Cinema will be asked to come for an interactive orientation course and interview. For Post Graduate Programme in Television, shortlisted candidates will only have to come for an interview.
  • Students will be called in 1:5 ratio (reserved category) and 1:4 ratio (general candidates) as per merit list.
  • For Post Graduate Programme in Cinema, the relative marks distribution for various steps of the selection process is 25% for written test, 25% for the interview and another 50% for interactive orientation course.
  • In case if more than one student is found to have scored the exact marks in the merit list, the candidate with a higher score in the specialisation area aptitude test will be given preference for admission.
