Dr. T.R. Pachamuthu, who is the Founder Chancellor of SRM University recently inaugurated the SRM-AP Amaravati academic programme for the academic year 2017-18. The ceremony was held on Monday, 7th August 2017 at its newly constructed premises in Neerukonda village in the capital region of Andhra Pradesh.
While delivering an address to the gathering on this occasion, he said that this is the fourth university of the SRM group wherein about 65,000 students are pursuing courses in varied streams. He further revealed that many states offered to setup SRM university but they preferred Andhra Pradesh. He said that with complete support from the Government of Andhra Pradesh, the construction of the university buildings has been completed in a short time span of about 150 days. He added that many students who are already enrolled in SRM University belong to Andhra Pradesh itself.

Pachamuthu also said that his ambition is to develop SRM-AP Amaravati as a world class educational institution. With the first batch beginning at SRM AP, he added that the efforts made by the students here will help determine the future image of the University in the state. SRM, in turn, will take care of the students and extend them as much support as they require. The students will need to trust the brand name in this journey, he said. He further exclaimed that SRM is the right place for students as the University not only has partnerships with prestigious foreign universities but also those institutions which allow SRM students to pursue one semester abroad in the four-year duration of the programme.

Dr. P. Satyanarayanan, Managing Trustee, SRM-AP Amaravati urged the students saying that if they glitter, SRM will glitter. He also advised the students to develop their creativity with the support of highly qualified and internationally exposed faculty. He also said that these students will not become job seekers but job providers by attaining knowledge and quality education in their career.
Senior Executive Director, Nanyang Technical University, Singapore said that the ties between Singapore and Andhra Pradesh have been improving following which it extended an offer to enter into a collaboration with SRM-AP Amaravati.
