SSC CGL 2022 is to be held from April 11 to 21, 2022. The preparation tips and the most important topics & exam pattern of SSC CGL 2022 have been mentioned for last-minute preparation of candidates.

SSC CGL 2022: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Graduate Level Exam (CGLE) exam every year for filling the positions of Grade “B” and “C” category posts in diverse Government Ministries, Departments, and Offices. The entire SSC CGL exam is divided into 4 stages called Tiers. After each tier, a certain number of students are qualified and allowed to sit for the next tier/stage. The first two tiers are conducted online while the third tier is an offline exam. This year the SSC is all geared up to begin the CGL 2022 exam in the month of April. The SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam is scheduled to be conducted from 11th April to 21st April 2022 as per the official SSC calendar.

Last-Minute Tips for SSC CGL 2022 Exam

General Intelligence and Reasoning for SSC CGL Exam 2022

  • Solve SSC CGL Previous year's question papers and practice questions from the question banks every day.
  • Practice questions everyday from topics like puzzles, figure-based questions, analogy, series, and coding-decoding. Start from basics and gradually move to hard questions. This will help you improve your accuracy level within a few weeks.
  • Practice non-verbal reasoning topics daily so that you start getting a hang of them and learn how to visualize such questions.
  • Learn to manage time and if you find any difficulty in solving any particular question on the exam day, then you are suggested to move to the next one without waiting time.

General Awareness for SSC CGL 2022

General Awareness (GA) is actually to be the most scoring section of the exam if you’re well versed with what is going on around the world.

  • Within two months you can get a good hold on this section which will help you solve this section within 10 minutes in the actual exam. You can use the time saved here for doing the Quantitative Aptitude or Reasoning section.
  • There are more questions from Static GK than current affairs so learn the static GK from various books and keep an eye on the current affairs.
  • In accordance with the trends observed in the past few years, the preparation can be done in the given order of priority: Science> Polity> History> Geography> Economy> Miscellaneous
  • Avoid rote learning, take the help of notes and mind maps to remember facts, historical events, and important dates.
  • Try doing static GK for atleast 2 hours each day with at least 75 questions within a span of 30 minutes.
  • Revision is the key when it comes to General Awareness.
  • Read newspapers and current affairs magazines on a regular basis.

Quantitative Aptitude for SSC CGL 2022

Quantitative Aptitude (QA) is the most complex and most time-consuming section of the SSC CGL exam.

  • Start with important and high weightage topics like percentage; profit and loss; boat and stream questions; speed, distance and time; ratio and proportion, etc.
  • Learn the formulas, shortcuts, concepts, and tips for faster calculation.
  • Focus on scoring topics such as simplification, age problems, interest, percentages, ratio and proportion, and Number theory.
  • Solve a variety of questions on all the formulas learned so you are aware of your strong and weak areas.
  • The concepts and basics of every topic must be clear to solve difficult questions with ease.
  • Try to solve quants for at least 2 hours every day.
  • Do not devote more than 20-25 minutes to this section and leave the questions which seem time-consuming.

English Section for SSC CGL 2022

English is the most scoring section of the entire exam.

  • Practice reading books and novels to increase your comprehension skills.
  • Study from suggested SSC CGL books for English language and grammar.
  • Try to solve the entire section in 15-20 minutes.
  • Practice at least 2-3 comprehensions daily and in between breaks learn one-word substitutions, synonyms, and antonyms.
  • Read the newspapers daily to improve reading speed, vocabulary, and current affairs.
