It is a reason for celebration for students studying at Andhra Loyola College ! The premiere college has been granted 'Star College Status' on 5th Feb 2016 by Department Of Bio-Technology, Govenment Of India, New Delhi. Under this status, the college will be provided with a financial support by the Government.
The following Departments are selected under Star Status Scheme:
- Department Of Botany
- Department of Bio Technology
- Department of Micro Biology
- Department of Zoology
- Department of Physics and
- Department of Chemistry.
Under this scheme, the Department of Bio Technology, Government of India will provide financial support to improve infrastructure facilities, Lab Resources etc. The outstanding feature is that this Department also provides financial support to the poor and deserving.
It also awards Merit Scholarships to students. Dr. B. SivaKumari the Head of the Department of Botany, Andhra Loyola College said College Dekho that "This is a great opportunity for the students as well as college to develop academics in much more better way'. She received special appreciation award by the college management on the eve of College Day Celebrations which was held on 06-02-2016
