As per Gujarat’s education department announcement, the semester exams for college students in the containment zones in Gujarat will be conducted specially in August or September. Marks of these special exams will be considered as regular marks in the students’ mark sheets. This decision was taken through a government resolution on June 2, 2020.
The students who went back to their native states or even outside countries will not be required to come back for the exams. For them, exams will be conducted online. In universities such as Gujarat University and Gujarat Technological University where the students from across the state are enrolled and they stay in the hotel during their studies, exam centre will be set up in each district for the students.

The students who are in intermediate semesters 2,4 and 6 and will be promoted on the basis of merit, will get their fee adjusted in the upcoming semester’s exam fee. On May 29, 2020, the education department had conducted a webinar with the VCs of state universities and it was headed by Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, the Education Minister.
There was another government resolution which directed all the universities to arrange for the complete online admission process and document verification once the COVID-19 situation gets better. All the colleges affiliated to the state universities were also given instructions on how to conduct the online academic works for semesters 3, 5 and 7 from June 21, 2020.
