Moorthy Selvakumaran who is the education consultant said to the reporters that it is a really good percentage considering it is the decade of IT and another reason according to him for the rise in percentage was that the students were allowed to attend both on and off campus placements. A faculty member of Anna University said that this was a good time for students as there is an increase in the construction of bridges, infrastructure, roads etc.

On the other hand, students from the streams like textile and chemical engineering struggled a little for placement because from the numbers one can make out that mostly students from civil, mechanical, IT and CSE got placed.
