The Supreme Court has decided to consider urgent petitions requesting the delay of the GATE 2022 examination scheduled to be held on 05th, 16th, 12th and 13th February. The GATE 2022 postponement plea was submitted by Advocate Pallav Mongia on behalf of the petitioners and the Supreme Court of India has decided to list the matter urgently. A bench comprising the Chief Justice of India NV Ramana has agreed to list the matter on a first-priority basis. Students have been demanding the postponement of the GATE 2022 examination due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country for over a month now and it finally seems their demand has fallen to the right ears.

Around 9 lakh students are expected to appear in this year’s GATE examination, which will be conducted across the country in multiple exam centres . Although IIT Kharagpur , the GATE 2022 conducting body, has issued the GATE 2022 admit cards and travel pass , it has not yet issued any COVID-appropriate guidelines for conducting the exam.
GATE 2022 will begin from 05th February onwards and the exams will be conducted in two shifts - morning and afternoon. The GATE 2022 response sheet is expected to be released on 18th February and the GATE 2022 provisional answer key on 26th February (tentative). The result for the GATE 2022 exam will be declared on 17th March.
