Taiwan University and IIT Ropar Collaborate to Build Artificial Intelligence Centre

The Indian Institute of Technology Ropar and National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan, signed an MoU of collaboration for the establishment of a Research Centre for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

The Indian Institute of Technology Ropar and National Chung Cheng University, Taiwan have collaborated to build up a research centre for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. The Ministry of Science and Technology of Taiwan will categorically finance the centre of Artificial Intelligence. The initiated effort of funding the centre is with a notion to promote mutual and reciprocal cooperation strings between the two reputed institutions.

With an aim to boost active projects on joint terms, curriculum development of Artificial Intelligence programmes, exchange of faculty members and students and to facilitate academic and industry-based interactions, the establishment of this research centre will be first of its kind. The centre will be an active platform for the exchange of the critically acknowledged areas of thoughts and actions related to Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

This active collaboration for the research centre has been initiated by the International Relations Office of IIT Ropar. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for this collaboration was signed by the delegations of both the institutions at an event. The event witnessed the philosophical approach of Professor S K Das, Director of IIT Ropar, regarding the collaboration between the two institutions.

Professor also emphasised on approaching academic events in microelectronics and mathematical computing and Artificial Intelligence, where both institutions can easily collaborate. Interactive exchange between the Taiwan delegates and IIT Ropar officials including Head of Department of Computer Science, Dean of Research, HODs of Engineering, Mathematics, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Social Sciences and Humanities, at the event also took place. A lot of thought process and ideas regarding the new collaboration got exchanged with this interactive session between the delegates of both the institutions.
