The annual admission process for engineering courses in Tamil Nadu, i.e., Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) is being conducted in online mode. Until 2017, the admission process was offline, which resulted in various hassles and caused inconvenience to the candidates. Former Higher Education Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. KP Anbazhagan confirmed the implementation of the new admission process.
With an aim to facilitate the implementation of the online admission process for engineering courses in a hassle-free manner, the state government has set up 44 centres in 32 districts across Tamil Nadu. If the number of applicants is more in a particular district, there will be two TNEA Facilitation Centres (TFCs) to help students. DTE (Tamil Nadu) , government-aided and government colleges affiliated to Anna University will function as facilitation centres. Government Polytechnic colleges, arts and science colleges will be also utilised if necessary.
The TNEA 2019 application process began from May 02, 2019, and continued until May 31, 2019. The candidates can check the detailed TNEA 2019 registration and counselling process here.
