Tamil Nadu Schools and College Holiday 5 December 2023Tamil Nadu School Holiday Tomorrow 5 December 2023: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted Cyclone Michaung to cross the north of Tamil Nadu on the evening of December 4, adjoining the coast of Chennai and Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh. Due to the unstable weather conditions, holidays to schools and colleges have been declared in various districts/regions in the state from December 2 onwards. For tomorrow, December 5, 2023, students can check here for all the latest updates regarding the Tamil Nadu school holiday due to rains.

Given the predictions of heavy rains and the current flood situations, a public holiday for tomorrow, December 5, 2023, has so far been declared in:
- Chennai
- Thiruvallur
- Kanchipuram
- Chengalpattu
- Ranipettai
Tamil Nadu School Holiday Tomorrow 5 December 2023: Districts where holiday is expected
Several other districts are also expected to declare a holiday tomorrow. However, any confirmation regarding it has not been given yet.

- Karaikal
- Puducherry
As per the prediction by IMD, all districts in Tamil Nadu are expected to receive lightning and thunderstorms on December 5, 2023 and are on yellow alert. No district so far has been put on red or orange alert for December 5. On the other hand, Thiruvallur district faces a red alert on December 4 while Ranipettai, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, and Chennai are on an orange alert.
For the next few days, from December 6 to 8, IMD has predicted the rains to recede and has not given any warning to any district. Hence, the schools and colleges in the state will likely remain open. It shall however be noted that Tamil Nadu school holiday will also depend on the flood situations in each region, whose status will be confirmed by the respective authorities in due time.
Anna University and Tiruvallur University postponed all semester exams scheduled on December 5. SRM University postponed all exams scheduled on December 5.
