Earlier, Gogoi had visited 'Super 30' office in Patna in 2010 and has praised Kumar for his initiative. He also offered Rs 5 lakh to the program for expansion of its activities. Super 30 has a track record of successful students every year making it to Indian Institute of Technology.
Kumar said he had good talks with the chief minister and was impressed with his concern for the poor. "I will certainly look into his request and try to help the poor students in whatever way I can," the mathematician said.
