The TCS CodeVita contest for engineering and science students was won by a two member team from IIT Hyderabad.
Adarsh Pugalia and Shalin Shah who formed the team from IIT Hyderabad bagged the 1st prize of $10,000 at the contest that was held in Hyderabad last week according to a Tata Consultancy Services release on Monday.
The team of Kunal Kukreja and Monik Pamecha who represented the D.J. Sanghvi College of Engineering, Mumbai bagged the second prize of $7,000 University of Charles, Prague represented by Jana Batoryova and Jakub Dargaj bagged the third prize of $3,000.
More than 83,000 college teams from across the globe competed in the fourth global coding challenge. The release stated that the participants get to” experience the joy of coding and to sharpen programming skills through real life computing practices.”
Top 15 teams contested in the final phase of the contest. The grand finale that lasted over six hours saw 15 teams competing with each other that included 12 teams from India, one from Slovakia and two from Peru.
The executive vice-president and global head (HR) Ajoy Mukherjee said,” For students the ability to leverage technology and build applications to provide solutions becomes significantly important.” TCS has given provisional offers to all the thirty finalists. The release stated that the registrations are open for CodeVita Season 5.
