The government of Telangana is likely to hike the course fee for various UG courses. Various degree college managements have approached the state government regarding fee hike. The college managements claimed that there has not been fee hike for UG courses in the past four years. As per norms, the universities have to increase 10% of course fee every year. However, the universities did not permit its affiliated colleges to hike the course fee. Therefore, college managements approached state government.

As per the proposal made by college managements, the course fee for various UG courses is expected to increase up to Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 4,000. The new fee structure will come into effect from the academic session 2017-18.
One of the principals of a private college revealed that the government is likely to hike the fee. The college managements met the Education Minister of Telangana, Mr. Kadiyam Srihari and proposed to increase course fee.

The government is also planning to bring uniform fee structure for all the UG courses. currently, each university has a different fee structure. As per the plan of the government, all the universities will be directed to follow the uniform fee structure and the government will frame a new fee structure after holding consultations with Vice-Chancellors of various universities across the state.
The government will conduct online admissions for UG courses. The online admission system was introduced last year and received a positive response from various colleges and universities. Therefore, the government decided to continue the same process and it is likely to start in the month of May. A detailed notification will be issued soon.
