Will there be Telangana School Holiday on 5 September 2024?
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a “yellow alert” in various districts of Telangana. Therefore, schools are expected to be closed in Telangana on 5 September 2024. As per the latest update, the Khamman District holiday is declared till 6th September. As per the meteorological centre in Hyderabad, heavy rain is expected in parts of Telangana until September 7. The Godavari River's rising water levels due to continuous rains in Maharashtra may prolong the flood situation in the State. Increased discharges from various projects are contributing to the flood flow. The impact is expected to add to the ongoing issues in Telangana.
Latest Update at 11:50 PM: No official statement regarding Telangana School Holiday on 5 September 2024 has been released. However, Khamman District schools will remain closed, and all other districts schools and colleges are expected to remain open, unless affected by flood or water-logging which will be declared by the institute head.

According to reports, Khamman District has declared a holiday until September 6, 2024.
Moderate rains are being witnessed in several parts of Adilabad and Nirmal districts , so a school holiday is likely in these areas as well. Bhadrachalam is also expected to have a school holiday.
Heavy rains are expected in the districts of Jayashankar Bhupalapalle, Komaram Bheem, Mancherial, and Mulugu , so school holidays are expected in these districts.
Over 20 lakh acres of crops have been damaged in Telangana due to rains and floods.
- The hardest-hit areas due to rains include Nalgonda, Nagarkurnool, Mahabubabad, Mulugu, Khammam, Mahabubnagar, Hanamkonda, Bhadradri Kothagudem, and Jangaon.
