Telangana TET Aspirants Demand Introduction of New Paper

Telangana TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) aspirants are demanding the state government to include a new paper in addition to paper I and Paper II. Language Pandits across the state are demanding for a separate paper in TET exam. Telangana state government will issue TET notification soon.

Candidates aspiring to teach Classes V-VIII must appear for Paper II exam in TET. In TET Paper II, candidates are tested for 90 marks in common subjects (Telugu, General English and Child Psychology), while the rest of the 60 marks are applicable for Social Studies or Mathematics.

As of now, there is no option for Language Pandits to choose language specialization as a specific subject for 60 marks in the place of Social Studies or Mathematics. Language Pandits were of the option that choosing either of the subjects instead of their own language was leading them to be at a disadvantage. They can score well if they are given the option to choose their own language as a subject in TET for 60 marks.

TET score carries 20% weightage in TRT (Teacher Recruitment Test). The Andhra Pradesh government created Paper – III/ Paper – IIA specifically for Language Pandits already. The candidates are expecting the Telangana government to do the same. Over 4 lakh candidates are eagerly waiting for the Telangana TET notification.
