Telangana state Universities are thinking about going back to the traditional teaching methods like conducting offline classes once the lockdown is lifted that has been on since the outbreak of this ungodly disease - Coronavirus in the month of March. The state universities are giving serious thought about resuming normal services once the nation comes out of the lockdown.
While the Osmania University (OU) is contemplating to hold informal interactive sessions and practical classes, the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTU) might resume traditional classes. The students have demanded that traditional teaching methods must resume once the lockdown is over at least for a few weeks. All the Universities are currently practising online teaching methods.
Tamilisai Soundarajan, Governor and Chancellor of Osmania University (OU) received an email from some engineering students of a college affiliated to OU demanding the university to conduct offline classes for a minimum duration of 20 days after the lockdown is lifted and before the conduct of any exam.
Conduct of online classes has not been smooth going either with many cases of poor internet connectivity, external disturbances etc being reported. An OU professor said that due to these problems, they have been using online platforms like Whatsapp, NPTEL, SWAYAM etc to disburse the study materials to the students.

According to a senior OU official, the University is planning to conduct informal interactive sessions with students once the lockdown gets over for at least a week. The exams will be conducted in two weeks time after the lockdown ends, added the senior OU official.
Out of the 261 JNTU-H colleges, 205 are conducting online classes and has a current attendance rate between 70 and 80 per cent. As per a piece of information received from a JNTU-H source, it is going to conduct offline classes for at least 7 to 10 days before conducting the exam and after the lockdown is lifted.
