The Department of Commerce, Gauhati University is organising a four-day festival called Manisfest Kommercio starting from May 5 to May 8. This is the second edition of Manisfest Kommercio. The festival is known to provide a common platform to students to showcase their versatile talent in the field of music, folk dance, cultural rally, sports, photography, drama, skit, mime etc.
The first day of the fest was inaugurated by Dr RM Pant, Director, NIRD as the Chief Guest. Another invited member was Dr Anup Kumar Mishra, Director of Assam Science Environment and Technology Council. The function was presided over by Dr Mridul Hazarika, Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University.
On May 6, the Department of Commerce will be organising an awareness programme on the Anti-Tobacco Day as part of the UN programme in association with Dr B Barooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati, and GLP Social Circle, Guwahati.
Renowned Singer Maanjyotsna Mahanta and Violin Maestro Deepak Baruah will be felicitated in the function.
On May 7, there will be an entrepreneurship meet titled Startup Mantra and Make In India. Some prominent industrialists and entrepreneurs from the state are expected to attend this meet.
On May 8, the valedictory function will be attended by the Chancellor of the Gauhati University and the Governor Of Assam and Nagaland, PB Acharya.
The Head Of The Department, Commerce, Dr Bhaskar Jyoti Bora has invited Commerce students, teachers and other alumni of the Commerce department working in different places spread across the country to attend the festival.
