K. Thyagarajan, Professor at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi delivered a lecture at the Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO) as a part of its 74 th foundation day celebrations. He delivered a lecture on ‘Integrated Quantum Photonics’.

Thyagarajan is a renowned professor who has published more than 140 research papers in international journals. Recently, he has filed five patent applications. In his talk, he highlighted that there is a wide scope for research activities in the area of integrated quantum photonics. He explained that the subject deals with integrated optical devices.

RK Sinha, Director of CSIO, listed the achievements of CSIO. He explained that integrated quantum photonics is the upcoming area through which CSIO-CSIR would develop some technologies for tactical use as well as for social benefit.
On this occasion, CSIO honoured the members who have completed 25 years of service and who retired during the preceding year. They were honoured with mementoes, shawls and Prashati Patra.
