Tata Institute of Social Sciences or TISS conducted National Entrance Test or TISSNET 2017 on January 7, 2017, at 39 test centres across India. The examination was conducted in online mode which had 100 multiple choice questions. The duration of the examination was one hour and forty minutes. The test commenced at 2:00 PM and continued until 3:40 PM.

The test was carried out as per the pattern mentioned by TISS and no glitches in the paper were reported at 39 test centres across India. Around, 20,000 students took the examination, and the results for the same will be declared on January 27, 2017.
The pattern of TISSNET 2017 is as follows: -

For the wrong answers given by the candidates, there is no negative marking. As per TISSNET cut-off, the names of the candidates will be shortlisted. SC/ST candidates need to secure a minimum of 35% of marks in the TISSNET examination. On the other hand, a minimum of 45% of marks is necessary for others to qualify in the examination.

The candidates whose names will be shortlisted as per the marks they scored in TISSNET 2017 need to attend a Pre-Interview Test or PIT and Personal Interview or PI. The details related to PIT and PI will be available on TISS website from the third week of February.
TISSNET is an entrance examination which is conducted every year for the admission to Master of Social Work course and other 56 related programmes in four main campuses of TISS. The score of TISSNET is accepted by TISS Mumbai, Hyderabad, Guwahati and Tuljapur.
