Candidates must be in the top 2,50,000 list of the JEE Mains Examination 2022 to be eligible to apply. Further, these top 2,50,000 candidates are distributed category-wise, check the detailed list here. 

Total No. of Candidates to be Eligible for JEE Advanced 2022

The JEE Advanced 2022 dates are released, and the examination will be conducted on July 3, 2022. The online application form will be released on June 8. Interested candidates should check the eligibility criteria before applying for the examination. As per the official notification of JEE Advanced 2022, the Total No. of Candidates to be eligible for the exam are 2,50,000 just like the previous year.

Candidates aspiring for B.Tech admission at IITs must appear for JEE Advanced 2022 . However, qualifying JEE Main 2022 and featuring in the top 2,50,000 candidate list are mandatory to register for the Advanced exam. International students can also apply for JEE Advanced 2022 if the eligibility conditions are met.

Candidates must be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates across all categories in the JEE Main Examination 2022 B.E./B.Tech. paper. The percentages of candidates shortlisted for each category are as follows: -

  • 10% for GEN-EWS
  • 27% for OBC-NCL
  • 15% for SC
  • 7.5 % for ST
  • 40.5% for Open

Within each of these five categories, PwD applicants are eligible for a 5% horizontal reserve. However, In the event of "tied" ranks/scores in any category, the total number of applicants may be somewhat more than 2,50,000.
