Cancer did not stop a Ranchi boy from securing more than 90% in CBSE Class 12 examinations. Tushar Rishi who has been suffering from Cancer fought all the odds and secured 95% in Class 12. It clearly reveals his dedication and determination towards studies. He used to visit All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi every three months for a medical checkup. He did not take any additional coaching or tuition for Class 12 examinations.
Despite his health condition, Tushar scored 95 marks each in Physics and English, 93 marks in Mathematics, 100 in Fine Arts and 89 in Computer.

Explaining about his health condition, Tushar mentioned that he is in a better condition now after taking treatment at AIIMS. However, he needs to visit AIIMS for every three to four months for regular checkups and updates on health condition. Revealing his secret of success, Tushar said that studying regularly mitigates the pressure of exams.
Tushar completed his Class 12 from Delhi Public School (DPS). Everything was fine until 2013. The struggle started in 2014 when doctors detected cancer in his left knee. He failed to appear for Class 10 examinations due to his health condition. He was away from academics for 11 months as he was under chemotherapy. The treatment made him feel better and kept him focused on academics.
After the treatment, he was back to studies and secured 10 CGPA in Class 10 in the year 2015. His aim is to pursue B.A. English or B.A. Economics at the University of Delhi. Tushar’s father works with the state agricultural department and his mother is a professor at Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra .

Tushar Rishi also authored a book named ‘The Patient Patient’ in which he explained his story as a young cancer survivor. The book has been performing exceptionally on Amazon. At present, he needs to take a lot of care of his health to avoid reoccurrence of cancerous cells.
The story of Tushar Singh is a lesson for all students. His life story teaches dedication, determination, and zeal towards education. Tushar’s life is also a motivation to many who are suffering from various diseases or ailments.
