If you are planning to pursue higher education in the United Kingdom, it is time that you start exploring colleges and universities for admissions in the next academic year. A service which is provided by the UK government is the Universities and College Application Services (UCAS) that can enable you to apply for a variety of courses at the undergraduate courses.
UCAS is compulsory for all the students who wish to pursue undergraduate courses from any college/university in the UK. Further, one must also note that while UCAS is enough for universities like Oxford, but for Cambridge, one may also additionally need to fill another online application.

One must note that the eligibility criteria for different courses may vary from college to college and hence it is advisable that interested applicants go through the detailed eligibility conditions on the official websites of the respective university.
Apart from using the UCAS, all the international and non-EU students are required to produce the IELTS or TOEFL score to fulfill the requirements of the English language. An applicant must confirm the validity of the test in the college or university one is applying to. Along with that, applicants also submit written recommendations by a teacher, professor or someone who knows the candidate academically.

While filling in the application form, a candidate can choose up to five courses across universities in the UK. However, a student usually has the option of opting for one course at Oxford University or Cambridge University.
