UCEED 2024 Exam Instructions: As scheduled, IIT Bombay will conduct the Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam in Design (UCEED 2024) on January 21, 2024. The exam authority has shared the important guidelines regarding NAT, MSQ, and MCQ questions and the instructions to fill in the answers in the examination. The candidates appearing for this entrance test must follow these guidelines. The exam will be conducted for a total of 3 hours of duration and the maximum marks allotted to this examination are 300 marks. The detailed marking scheme and exam pattern have also been shared for the reference of the candidates in the news below.

UCEED 2024 Question Types: NAT, MSQ and MCQ

The question paper for the UCEED Exam 2024 includes various types of questions types. Here are the modes of questions:

NAT (Numerical Answer Type) Question: The candidate is required to enter a number as the answer in the virtual screen during the UCEED 2024 exam duration. +4 marks will be given for the correct answer. However, no negative marking will be done for incorrect/unattempted responses

MSQ (Multiple Select Questions): The questions under this category will contain one or more than one correct answer out of the four given options. The different marks weightage for each MSQ answer are as follows:

  • +4 Marks - For all correct answers are opted and No incorrect options are selected
  • +3 Marks - For choosing three options out of four correct answers and No incorrect options are selected
  • +2 Marks - For choosing two options out of three or more correct answers and No incorrect options are selected
  • +1 Marks - For choosing one option out of two or more correct answers and No incorrect options are selected
  • 0 Marks - For unanswered questions
  • -1 Marks - All other cases

MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions): The question will include four options and only one correct answer response has to be submitted by the candidate. +4 marks will be given to each correct answer and -1 mark will be deducted for incorrect answer. 0 marks will be given to unattempted questions

Part-B (Descriptive Questions): The candidate will be given a case study/question to either draw or design on the computer screen. The candidates have to write the answer on the answer booklets provided separately and have to submit back to the invigilator after the end of the examination

UCEED 2024 Important Instructions for Different Question Types

The candidates can check the guidelines shared for different answer types including NAT, MSQ, MCQ questions shared below:

  • The UCEED 2024 Paper consists of two sections, i.e. Part A and B. Both of the sections are mandatory to be answered
  • In Part A, The candidates will have to answer a total of 14 Numerical Answer Type (NAT), 15 Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and 28 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
  • The candidates will be given a total of 2 hours to solve this section in the UCEED 2024 question paper
  • For Part B, Candidates will be given one question each of Sketching and Design Aptitude in one hour. The questions are descriptive and will have to be answered in separate answer sheets
