The University Grants Commission (UGC) has allocated over Rs. 90 crores to Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) for the next three years. The fund allocation has been made under ‘Capital Assets’ based on the recommendation of an expert committee constituted by UGC with a motive to assess the financial requirements of central universities across the country.
Finally, efforts made by Vice Chancellor of AMU, Mr. Tariq Mansoor for the fund grants have borne fruits. He had earlier submitted a detailed proposal to the UGC through a letter regarding the allocation mentioned above.

AMU will use the funds allocated by the UGC for the following purposes: -

Vice Chancellor of AMU, Professor Tariq Mansoor has expressed his happiness over the allocation of funds by UGC. He indicated that the funding would support the ongoing projects on the AMU campus and also enhance unique facilities in the varsity. Apart from that, WiFi availability will also be taken care of with the funds received to help faculty and students access the internet easily.
