UGC Chairman confirms CUET 2023 Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

CUET 2023 subject and exam pattern will remain the same as last year. However, this time an applicant can take six domain subjects along with one or two language tests and a general test.

CUET 2023: CUET 2023 exam pattern and marking scheme has been released by UGC Chairman, Mr. M. Jagadesh Kumar. He confirms that the subject and exam pattern will remain the same as last year. However, this time an applicant can take six domain subjects along with one or two language tests and a general test. Common University Entrance Test will be conducted over a period of ten days from 21st to 31st May 2023. The exam will be conducted in CBT mode for a duration of two hours. English and the languages chosen by candidates will be the medium of the question paper. Each correct question will fetch 5 marks whereas each incorrect question will result in a subtraction of 1 mark. Read further to get an idea of the CUET exam pattern and marking scheme.

CUET 2023 Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

The exam pattern and marking scheme for CUET 2023 have been given below-

Exam Pattern

The exam pattern is as follows-
Section No. of Questions Duration Question Types
Section IA 40 questions to be answered out of 50 in each language 45 minutes for each language Questions based on reading comprehension
Section IB
Section II 40 questions to be answered out of 50 45 mins for domain-specific subjects MCQ-based questions based on NCERT class 12 syllabus only
Section III 60 questions to be answered out of 75 60 minutes or 1 hour MCQ-based questions for General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning, and more.

Marking Scheme

The marking scheme of CUET 2023 has been given below-
