UGC to hold Common Entrance Test for Admissions to Central Universities

According to the latest reports from UGC (University Grants Commission), a common entrance examination must be conducted by all the central universities for the upcoming session i.e, from 2022-23 as suggested by the Union government. NTA (National Testing Agency) will be the conducting authority that will be monitoring CUCET 2022 for UG and PG admissions. Due to the pandemic, the examination got delayed. This article will give you detailed information about the same.

The meeting was primarily conducted by the authorities to emphasize certain pointers which are mentioned below.

  • After the detailed discussion, the authority concluded that NTA is the conducting body for the upcoming session of CUCET.

  • The examination will be conducted for all the undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

  • As per the UGG guidelines, central universities are advised to follow all the required protocols owing to the corona outbreak.

  • CUCET will be conducted in online mode, and in 13 different languages: Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Urdu, Marathi, Kannada, Gujarati, Punjabi, Malayalam, Odia, Telugu, and Tamil.

  • CUCET will be comprised of an aptitude and a subject-specific test. Aptitude test will be having questions from verbal ability, general awareness, reading comprehension, and logical reasoning. The second part will be consisting questions related to different streams.
