Earlier, there were instances where many students were discriminated on the grounds of caste. In September 2016, a Dalit student who was suffering from liver cirrhosis was allegedly forced to vacate the hostel on charges of beating up a professor. The officials of the varsity had not shown any mercy towards the student and threw away all his belongings including the medicines from the room. The varsity did not inform the student in advance and uploaded his rustication letter. When questioned on the issue, the officials of the varsity had denied the charge.

The varsity will have to take all the necessary measures to regulate the issues on caste discrimination on the campus.
