The Union Education Budget 2022 is being announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharam on February 01, 2022. Through the budget, the finance minister presents the financial plan dedicated to the Education sector while also highlighting other important factors.

Major Highlights of Union Education Budget 2022-23
There has been a lot of emphasis on Digital Learning through Union Education Budget 2022-23. The major highlights of the Union Education Budget 2022-23 have been updated below:
- The overall allotment of the Education budget 2022 is Rs 1,04,278 crore (a rise of Rs 11,054 crore from the previous year).
- The education expenditure acquired 3.1% of the GDP percentage as per the announced budget.
- The syllabus of Agriculture University will be revised so that it can accommodate modern-day agriculture, natural, zero-budget, and organic farming in its annual syllabus.
- Digital Universities will be set up and launched which will provide digital learning to the students along with high-quality education.
- The PM eVidya Scheme will be expanded from 12 to 200 channels with the purpose of facilitating supplementary learning for classes 1 to 12. One Class One TV channel will be responsible to look through the loss of learning due to COVID and the classes will be in regional languages for all the classes.
- The skill development programs will be redeveloped. A Digital DESH e-portal will be developed & launched where the skills of the students will be evaluated, updated, and enhanced.
- Teachers will be using quality E-Content in order to teach the students for which the teachers will be trained extensively.
- There will be set up of 5 Centers of Excellence which will be having an endowment fund of Rs. 250 crore each. These centers will be set up for Urban Planning Courses which will be beneficial in assisting the Urban Sector Development.
